Alongside winning its fourth consecutive weekend box office, Barbie has officially crossed $500 million in North America.
As reported by Comscore, Barbie’s dominance can’t be stopped as it brought in another $33.7 million and only saw a week-over-week drop of 36%. To date, Barbie has earned $526.30 million in North America and $1.18 billion worldwide.
When Barbie crossed $1 billion at the global box office, it sent director Greta Gerwig into the record books as the first woman to cross the billion-dollar mark as a female director.
Oppenheimer held on to its second-place spot with domestic earnings of $18.8 million. Oppenheimer has reached $264.26 million in North America and $649.02 million worldwide.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem placed third with $15.75 million domestically, which was only a 44% drop from its opening weekend. The latest TMNT film has brought in $72.78 million in North America and $94.7 million worldwide.
Meg 2: The Trench swam to fourth place with $12.7 million and The Last Voyage of the Demeter opened in fifth place with North American box office sales of $6.5 million.
