gamescom 2023 is fast approaching! Like last year, gamescom will be filled with gaming reveals, news, demos, cosplay looks, interviews, and so much more. Many big attendees will be there this year, including Nintendo and Xbox. What’s more, IGN will be an official media partner of gamescom studio.
This guide will provide everything you need to know to watch gamescom and IGN’s biggest events within, including when each event starts, a list of places you can stream them live with us, and what you can expect to see at gamescom 2023.

When is gamescom 2023?
gamescom 2023 runs from August 22 through August 27 in Cologne, Germany.
What to Expect at gamescom 2023
There will be 6 total days of gaming coverage at gamescom, from new game trailers to developer showcases to exclusive interviews and beyond. Whether you care about gameplay footage and trailers or you want to get the latest announcements from your favorite studio, there’s going to be some of everything at gamescom this year. We’ll also be hosting the annual Award show on Friday, August 25, as well as the gamescom Cosplay Contest on Sunday, August 27, which is always a fun time.
For those lucky enough to be attending the event in-person, there is a Cosplay Village, esports event arena and indie and retro areas to explore in addition to the hundreds of gaming stations and booths. For those watching from home, IGN will have you covered with live news, updates and streaming so you don’t miss anything from the gamescom 2023 floor!
From Microsoft
In case you missed it, “Microsoft is yet to announce an Xbox showcase for gamescom 2023; it looks like the focus is firmly on games set to come out in 2023 or the early part of 2024.” Microsoft confirmed there will be 30 games across 150 gaming stations at the in-person booth, and will show presentations for Starfield, Forza, and Ara: History Untold. Fans attending the event may get a chance to play Starfield ahead of its September 6 launch.
From Nintendo
Confirmed back in April, Nintendo is returning to gamescom 2023 after a four year absence! It isn’t clear on what they will show as an exhibitor yet, but stay tuned.
gamescom 2023 Predictions
Watch the Next-Gen Console Watch crew and guests look ahead to Europe’s biggest games show to see what will be there, what might be there, and what we hope to be there, including games like STALKER 2, Hellblade 2, Forza Motorsport, and more. And yes, that includes Nintendo, too, with titles like the Super Mario RPG remake, Super Mario Bros. Wonder, and that adorable Princess Peach game that doesn’t have a title yet.

Geoff Keighley will again host Opening Night Live to kick off gamescom 2023. The opening show will feature world premieres and some of the most exciting announcements from gameplay and trailer reveals.

What is gamescom?
gamescom is one of the world’s largest events for computer and video games and features some of the biggest game announcements and reveals of the year. Last year, there were 13 million views from gamescom’s Twitch and YouTube streams alone. gamescom represents the entire spectrum of the gaming community; from indie to triple A, action, family, single-player or multiplayer games.
