We already knew that PlayStation was working on a pair of wireless earbuds, but today, the company unveiled new details, along with some other new audio products.
The wireless earbuds are called the PlayStation Pulse Explore. These new wireless earbuds are the first pair under the PlayStation brand, as PlayStation’s parent company, Sony, has previously made earbuds, most notably the WF-1000XM4.
PlayStation touts that the Pulse Explore will provide a “premium portable audio experience.” It includes dual microphones, AI-enhanced noise rejection to help cancel out background noises, and a charging case. As PlayStation previously confirmed, the Pulse Explore will have lossless audio support. It will retail for $199.99.
In addition to revealing new details about its previously teased earbuds, PlayStation also announced a brand new product in its audio devices lineup: the Pulse Elite wireless headset. Like the Pulse Explore, the Pulse Elite includes lossless audio and AI-enhanced noise rejection. The Pulse Explore also features a retractable boom mic and a charging mount, allowing you to store and charge your headset when it is not in use. The Pulse Elite will cost $149.99, with more info, such as pre-order details and a release date, being shared at a later date.
PlayStation also announced the Link Wireless Audio Technology. The tech is inside a USB adapter included in the Pulse Elite and Pulse Explore packaging. When in use, the adapter provides low latency, lossless audio that makes it easy to switch between the PS5 and the PlayStation Portal (previously known as Project Q). The PlayStation Link can also be used on PC and Mac and will be sold as a standalone item.
